Week 4 Worklog

Week 4 Objectives:

  • Deepen understanding of AWS storage services, including S3, Glacier, Snow Family, Storage Gateway, and AWS Backup.
  • Master S3 access mechanisms: Access Point, Storage Classes, ACL, CORS, Versioning, Replication, and performance optimization.
  • Perform end-to-end static website hosting with CloudFront CDN and public access configuration.
  • Learn the full lifecycle of migrating on-premises virtual machines to AWS using VM Import/Export.
  • Gain hands-on skills with Multi-AZ file systems, performance testing, deduplication, shadow copies, user quotas, and scaling operations.

Week 4 Achievements:

  • Gained strong understanding of S3 features: Storage Classes, Access Points, ACL, CORS, Glacier, performance patterns.
  • Successfully deployed static website hosting with CloudFront CDN and applied secure public access policies.
  • Completed full AWS Backup lifecycle: planning, deployment, notifications, restore testing, and cleanup.
  • Finished the end-to-end VM Import/Export workflow from on-premises to AWS and launched the instance from AMI.
  • Configured Storage Gateway & Multi-AZ file systems with performance monitoring, deduplication, shadow copies, and user management.
  • Implemented S3 multi-region replication and managed bucket versioning effectively.
  • Strengthened overall storage, security, hybrid integration, and performance optimization skills.
